Preparation of the surface

New smooth surface:
Sandblasting at Sa 2.5 is necessary to take away mill scale and to obtain a roughness degree Ra 12.5.

Old, Galvanized or rusty surface:
Remove loose particles and degrease (steam, degreaser).

Painted Surface:
Blasting, high-pressure water jetting or any chemical pickling process.
The surface must be free from mill scale, oil, paint and grease.

ZINGA can be applied on damp surfaces in moist conditions a little rust does not prevent the use of ZINGA.

Handling

ZINGA is not hazardous according to European standards.
The normal precautions used when handling paint should also be taken when using ZINGA.

Drying time

ZINGA is touch-dry and dust free in about 10 minutes.
Depending on the atmospheric conditions and the drying process. It is mechanically cured after approximately 48 hours.
ZINGA continues to harden further when exposed to humidity.
ZINGA is a coating that is best applied in two layers. a new coating of ZINGA can be applied after one hour.

Durability

For indoor applications is recommended one Layer of 40 microns thickness this will provide continuous protection for 7-10 years, depending on condition in chemical plant or polluted area an application of 90 microns thickness in recommended.
For out door use ZINGA should be applied in two layers with a total thickness of approximately 80 microns. An application such as this has been shown to last 14 years even in polluted area’s.

Test Results

Independent laboratory tests on ZINGA have been conducted at the following institutions:
